Workplace Flexibility Finalists AnnouncedThe
Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, along with 19 other organizations from the Charleston region, was selected as finalists for the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. Twenty eight businesses applied through the When Work Works program, a nation-wide initiative on effective and flexible workplaces. This award recognizes exemplary employers for their innovative workplace effectiveness and flexibility programs and practices. Using a rigorous scoring methodology that includes employees’ views as well as employer practices, the Alfred P. Sloan Awards honor organizations and worksites that are using workplace flexibility as a strategy to increase workplace effectiveness, yield positive business results and to help employees succeed. To be eligible, employers must have a worksite in Charleston, a minimum of ten employees and in operation for at least one year.
